jo youl’s story.

Jo Youl, a sixth-generation farmer with deep roots in agriculture, grew up in country Victoria and has always felt a strong connection to the land. After a successful marketing career in Melbourne, she and her husband Tom moved to Flinders Island in 2012 to manage Quoin, a family farm since the 1930s. Jo launched A Taste of Flinders in 2015, showcasing the island's produce, and expanded her ventures with boutique accommodations under the On Island Time brand. In 2019, she opened The Flinders Wharf, a paddock-to-plate restaurant celebrating local ingredients, which has since evolved to include ready-to-eat meals and short-stay accommodations.

Beyond the island, Jo launched Sagres Queenscliff, a luxury accommodation on Victoria's Bellarine Peninsula, and created Quoin the label, featuring Turkish towels and French linen. Her projects highlight her design talent, as she collaborates with interior designer Emily Fitzgerald. Jo is deeply involved in the Flinders Island community, working with local producers to enhance tourism, while enjoying the island lifestyle with her family. An entrepreneur at heart, Jo is a respected leader in design, marketing, hospitality, and business development.
